The International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Bridging Tourism Academia and Industry: Indian and European Perspectives" will be held from 7–11 September 2026 at Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India. Organized under the SIPAS track — Advancing Sustainability and Technology in Tourism, Hospitality, and Services Studies — the conference is held under the Erasmus+ SIPAS Capacity Building Project, funded by the European Union.
The five-day event will bring together academics, researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students from India and Europe to explore sustainable tourism practices, smart technologies, and industry–academia collaboration. Sessions will focus on education, employability, and innovation within the tourism, hospitality, and services sectors, creating structured opportunities for knowledge exchange and the formation of lasting international partnerships.
By bringing Indian and European perspectives into direct dialogue, the conference aims to strengthen research capacity, encourage cross-border collaboration, and build a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the tourism industry today — generating actionable insights for destinations, educators, and businesses alike.
